Saint Olaf Catholic Church Community Ministries

A fraternity of Catholic gentlemen dedicated to the principles of charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism. The Knights work to fulfill the central mission of the order providing charitable work, serving the parish, supporting the temporal and spiritual needs of brother Knights, acting for the good of country and giving aid to the sick and poor. Commitment: two to three hours per month for meeting and service commitment.

The Ladies of Charity respond to the needs of the poor by distributing food to low income, homeless, or unemployed women, providing contact to social workers, assisting with medical expenses, providing vouchers for food, clothing, and rent, and pursuing many other courses of service. From assisting those in prison to responding to natural disasters like Hurricane Katrina, the Ladies of Charity show the truthfulness of their name. 

Commitment: eight hours a month.

The St. Olaf Council of Catholic Women acts through its affiliated organizations to support, empower, and educate all women in spirituality, leadership, and service. The council's projects include and are not limited to: the Fall Luncheon, Saint Martha's Baby Project, Christmas Stocking Stuffer, and general membership meeting featuring keynote addresses by prominent community leaders. All women in the parish are welcome and encouraged to become actively involved in this outstanding and vital organization.

The Respect for Life Ministry promotes the dignity of every life from the moment of conception until natural death.  Through prayer, awareness, and concrete help for those in need we hope to build a culture of life and love.  

As God is the author of every life, we, as disciples of Christ, need to be instruments of light to those in need. If you ever hear of a woman in an unexpected or difficult pregnancy and she needs help, would you know how to assist her? The USCCB hopes that every Catholic church and its parishioners can come to the aid of these women to give them valuable resources that they may not even know exist.
