Called by Name Weekend

Our Diocese is renewing emphasis on the need for Vocation awareness and promotion within our Parishes. “Called by Name” weekend January 24-25 is a Diocesan initiative that invites all parishioners to nominate faithful men and women who may be called to the priesthood, religious, or consecrated life. Most priests and religious say they first considered their vocation because someone encouraged them. All parishioners are welcome to prayerfully nominate those who may be called by God to the priesthood, religious, or consecrated life using the diocesan forms provided in the Church Foyer.

Our Mission

PRAYER TO MAKE A “SPIRITUAL COMMUNION”

Saint Teresa of Avila wrote: “When you cannot receive Communion and cannot attend Mass, you can make a spiritual communion, which is a most beneficial practice; by it the love of God will be greatly impressed on you.”

My Jesus,
I believe that you are present
in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love you above all things,
and I desire to receive you into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment
receive you sacramentally,
please come spiritually into my heart.
I embrace you now
as if you were already there
and I unite myself wholly to you.
Never permit me
to be separated from you.
Amen
